Representatives of the National Academy for Public Administration are participating in a meeting of the Network of Directors of Institutes and Schools of Public Administration (DISPA), taking place from 14 to 16 October 2026 in Dublin, Ireland, at Trinity Business School, part of Trinity College Dublin, one of Ireland’s oldest and most prestigious higher education institutions, renowned for its long academic tradition and international reputation. The meeting is hosted by the Institute of Public Administration (IPA) of Ireland and brings together representatives from around 20 European countries.
This year’s meeting, under the theme “Learning for the future: democratic practice in an age of transformation”, is dedicated to strengthening European values through learning, leadership and collaboration. Participants are exploring opportunities to enhance collective action and cooperation, strengthen democratic practice, develop leadership and institutional capacities, and examine the role of learning in preparing public administration for future challenges, including digital transformation and the application of artificial intelligence.
The National Academy for Public Administration presented its vision for the continuous development of managers as a comprehensive professional pathway linking the development of leadership competencies, change management, and the promotion of learning and the development of others.
Participation in this international meeting enabled the Academy to present its initiative to improve training programmes for managers, exchange knowledge and experience with partner institutions across Europe, and learn about different approaches to leadership development in public administration. The insights gained and examples of good practice will make a valuable contribution to the continued improvement of the National Academy for Public Administration’s work and programmes.
